The small village of Apam is a Fante clan located in the central region of Ghana.  The Mfantsefo (meaning “Fante people”) welcomed Afra Yeboah Foundation and gave the organization an opportunity to educate the children of the village on dental hygiene. The Queenmother of Apam, Nana Otwuwa gathered the children of the village at the palace. 

Children from the ages of 5 to 16 were educated on dental hygiene. At the end of the dental hygiene workshop, the team provided the children with gift bags. In all, 218 children received gift bags containing 2 toothbrushes, 2 toothpaste, 2 notebook and 3 pencils. 

The town was merry and the atmosphere was vibrant with the smiles of children. Queen mother Nana Otwuwa expressed the needs of the villages. She emphasized that a children’s library would greatly benefit the children in the village. Below are pictures from the visit!
